A Comparison of the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas vs. the 2022 Tiguan
Volkswagen Beauties
These Volkswagen babes are ready to support different aspects of the German engineer’s ingenuity. The 2022 Volkswagen Atlas premieres solid features and innovative technology for the midsize SUV segment. In addition to the Atlas’s impeccable innovation, the SUV renders ample interior space with various engine and drivetrain options. At the same time, the 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan presents an entire exterior refresh and a unique capacity for the compact SUV segment.
Volkswagen Atlas
Customization of the Atlas is endless, starting with the passenger configuration seating. The configuration seating can host six different passenger-style seats with a pair of captain chairs for the second row. The alternative is a bench seat in the second row to increase capacity to seven.
A recent update included the front and rear style, making the Atlas appeal more refreshed and distinguished. The refresh also garnered the midsize SUV with three additional inches, which correlates to more interior space for passengers.
The Volkswagen Atlas’s standard safety features include a forward-collision warning system, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Front-wheel-drive (FWD) comes standard, but customization is plentiful, as all-wheel-drive is optional.
Head for the open road and the Atlas reeks of comfort, and a view only a picture can capture. The midsize SUV calls to the desire of the US market with ample interior space and revolutionary functionality.
The Base engine offers 235-horsepower through a turbocharged 4-cylinder. Don’t underestimate the Volkswagen engine. Even though the mid-size Volkswagen weighs 4,000 pounds, the Atlas delivers a solid low-end torque and sophisticated gearing. There’s also the optional 276-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 for those who crave more power.
Volkswagen Tiguan
The Volkswagen Tiguan took on a significant refresh. As a result, the compact SUV is one of the largest in the compact SUV segment, and one of the few to offer third-row seating. Additionally, the eight-seater is only available in front-wheel-drive (FWD).
When the Tiguan bears two rows, the Volkswagen SUV offers ample space for passengers plus their luggage. At the nose of the Tiguan is a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder that generates 184 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque. The turbocharged engine comes coupled with a responsive 8-speed automatic transmission.
The 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan premieres in five different trims: S, SE, SE R-Line Black, and SEL R-Line. The SEL R-Line attains all-wheel-drive (AWD) as the standard. While the standard S features forward-collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, an 8-inch digital cluster, a 6.5-inch infotainment screen, heated seats, and third-row seating.
The SE adds to the S trim with adaptive cruise control and blind-spot intervention. The SE R-Line Black features 19-inch black wheels with exterior accents, a panoramic sunroof, parking sensors, and ambient lighting. The SEL R-Line adds some leather to warm up the rear, ventilated front seats to cool them down, and a 10.3-inch infotainment screen.
