2025 Volkswagen ID.Buzz: Trim Levels and Features Unveiled
The buzz around the upcoming Volkswagen ID.Buzz has been palpable as enthusiasts eagerly await its debut. Although the exact release date for this electric successor to the beloved Microbus isn’t official, it may reach fans this fall (2024). Volkswagen has now unveiled more specifics, revealing that the 2025 ID.Buzz will hit American roads in three distinct trims.

The U.S. version of the ID.Buzz will feature an 86.0-kWh battery and offer a choice between a 282-hp single-motor rear-wheel drive or a 335-hp dual-motor all-wheel drive. While official EPA range figures are still forthcoming, each model will come with a 127.5-inch wheelbase, accommodating three rows of seats—the ID.Buzz will be available in three trim levels, each with unique features.
The base Pro S trim will come with rear-wheel drive and standard features, including 20-inch wheels, ambient interior lighting with 30 color options, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a range of driver-assistance technologies. One standout feature is the self-parking function with memory settings for recurring parking spots. The Pro S also offers a second-row bench seat, seating up to seven passengers.
Pro S Plus Trim: Luxury and Performance
For those seeking additional luxury, the Pro S Plus trim has either rear- or all-wheel drive. Opting for all-wheel drive necessitates second-row captain’s chairs, reducing passenger capacity to six. This trim introduces upscale features such as a 360-degree camera system, a head-up display, and a 700-watt Harman Kardon sound system. It also includes a manually retractable trailer hitch, although towing capacity specifics remain undisclosed. The Pro S Plus features a “flexboard” for a flat loading floor with the rear seats down and an optional electrochromic panoramic sunroof with variable transparency.
The 2025 VW ID.Buzz First Edition will make its exclusive debut at launch. Based on the Pro S Plus, this special edition offers both powertrain configurations and standard features with added exclusivity. The First Edition boasts unique 20-inch wheels, special badging, and roof-mounted cross bars. It also includes electrochromic glass, motion-activated sliding doors, and a tailgate. The two-tone paint scheme and the Dune interior option, featuring light gray leatherette and clay-colored accents, complete its distinctive style.
