The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Honors The Volkswagen Golf’s

The Volkswagen Golf’s distinctions continue to ascend. For the eighth time, the ‘Das Auto’ automaker revealed that the VW Golf GTI earned the 2022 Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety for the eighth time. The IIHS Top Safety Pick for the Golf GTI originates from the hatchback’s newly equipped High Beam Control. Moreover, the 2022 VW Golf R also attained a spot atop the 2022 Top Safety Pick+. 

The IIHS’s Top Safety Pick recieved “good” ratings in six crashworthiness tests. In addition to the six evaluations, any vehicle that comprised the IIHS list for the 2022 Top Safety Pick had to acquire no less than an “advanced” rating for both front crash prevention trials.

Other features that premiere standard for the 2022 Volkswagen Golf GTI and R include Slide Assist (Blind Spot Monitor) and Rear Traffic Alert. The German automakers, IQ.Drive is also standard for all Golf models. Those IQ.Drive features include Travel Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Stop & Go, and Lane Assist. Additionally, Emergency Assist is optional for Golf models fitted with automatic transmission.
