The AWD ID.4 Pro and Pro S Receive Price and Ranges

Volkswagen unleashed the ID.4 EV in late 2020. Furthermore, the automaker continuously evolves the ID.4 with the explosive ID.4 AWD Pro and Pro S variants. The 2021 ID.4 AWD Pro and Pro S eagerly anticipate a customer ready to tackle the open road. The German automakers also announced the EPA estimates for range and efficiency as well as pricing.     

The Volkswagen ID.4 rear-wheel drive holds 201 horsepower and 229 lb-ft of torque from the rear-axle mounted motor. The ID.4 with all-wheel drive provides an additional engine to the front axle and enhances the horsepower to 295 and torque to 339 lb-ft. With Volkswagen adding the extra motor on the front axle, the ID.4 increases in power by a whopping 94 horsepower and a boost in torque by 110 pound-feet.      

The ID.4 all-wheel-drive Pro and Pro S will contain the same battery pack as its big brother. The battery pack provides 77.0 kWh of practical capacity. All-wheel-drive receives the same battery with even more power, but even superheroes have a weakness. The ID.4 AWD Pro and Pro S lose a little range. The RWD Pro carries a respective range of 260 miles, and the Pro S provides a range of 250 miles. The EPA estimates a range of 249 miles for the Pro and 240 miles for the Pro S. 

The new all-wheel-drive ID.4 efficiency returns 102 MPGe within the city and 90 MPGe on the highway for 97 MPGe in total. The Pro S provides 98 MPGe in the city, 88 MPGe on the highway for 93 MPGe combined. The Pro S doesn’t offer the longevity of the Pro, but the Pro S is technologically advanced and full of convenient features like its optional 20-inch alloy wheels.  

With a 125-kW charger, the ID.4 accelerates to an 80% charge from 5% in just 38 minutes. In addition, all ID.4 owners receive three years of unlimited charging at Electrify America stations for the low, low price of nothing. 

The 2021 ID.4 AWD Pro starts at $44,870 and the AWD Pro S starts at $49,390* (not including destination fees).
