A recent presentation made by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles had a little secret tucked away within it for the investors, teasing the future descendants of the ID. Buzz. One of the most exciting vehicles that grasped everyone’s attention was the model which boasted a steering wheel complete with red accents and the “GTX” badge on its bottom spoke. This is the suffix that is already in use for the spiced up versions of the ID.4 and the ID.5 electric SUVs. In both GTX trims of the ID.4 and ID.5, the dual-electric motors power the SUVs with all-wheel drive for a combined output of 295 horsepower and 339 lb.-ft of torque. At present, it may be too soon to know if the ID. Buzz  GTX will offer a similar output to its predecessors, but it would not be surprising if this is the case. The German automaker has already made a promise to ensure all EVs are given the coveted GTX treatment, which will include an ID.3 GTX hot hatch as well.

On a different slideshow, a more spacious, long-wheelbase model is depicted. This is going to be the standard body style sold within the United States as Europe will be the only one to carry the standard wheelbase and cargo models. The LWB trims are also set to receive a much bigger battery, boasting a 111-kWh battery pack. This stretched-out ID. Buzz will also include all-wheel drive, which means there will be an electric motor in both the front and rear of the vehicle. At this time, it seems it is the intention of the VW commercial arm to sell the All-Wheel Drive ID. Buzz without the GTX badge.

On the third slideshow, a seven-seat layout is depicted, which appears to be the standard layout destined for the U.S. It appears that the depiction showcases a standard wheelbase, meaning  that it is possible for the VW Commercial Vehicles to sell the EV with seven seats while the shorter body model will be sold in Europe as well as other markets outside of the United States. Enthusiasts can expect these vehicle variants of the ID. Buzz to make a splash within the next few years, with the U.S-bound model being scheduled to make a debut in 2024.
