The Volkswagen ID.3 Launches With Unexpected Features
Volkswagen has just debuted a refreshed iteration of its electric vehicle, the ID.3, complete with a host of enhancements. The latest model showcases an impressive extended range of up to 374 miles, especially in its Pro S iteration, as per the WLTP standard. Furthermore, the German automaker has incorporated advanced and upgraded technologies into the vehicle’s functionalities.
Volkswagen ID.3
The Volkswagen ID.3 is a sleek hatchback that boasts a similar width and height to the Volkswagen Golf, though it falls slightly shorter in length. This refreshing departure from the SUV-heavy auto landscape is a breath of fresh air. The vehicle is built upon Volkswagen’s successful modular electric drive matrix (MEB) and comes complete with VW’s impressive ID. software. Additionally, the ID.3’s charging capabilities have been significantly upgraded by the German automaker.
The ID.3 boasts an unchanged infotainment and instrumentation system, with the exception of the European-market exclusive 12.9-inch option. However, the steering column is now adjustable, and the compact digital instrument cluster moves with it rather than being fixed to the dashboard.Â
To enhance the driving experience, Volkswagen has included VW Connect or We Connect, their latest generation of mobile online services. We Connect offers a variety of features, including navigation, convenience, entertainment, safety, and vehicle status functions. Upon purchase, ID.3 owners can connect their cars with their smartphones via Volkswagen’s app. We Connect even allows for upgrades to additional vehicle functions.Â
Moreover, Volkswagen has integrated a collection of Driver Assist systems into the ID.3. The upgraded ID.3 features a memory function for Park Assist Plus, where drivers can teach the vehicle recurring parking maneuvers. Additionally, the ID.3 comes with an augmented Reality Head-up Display, which projects directions directly onto the driver’s field of vision.
The ID.3 comes in two versions, the Pro and Pro S, each with different battery sizes and trims. With a 58kWh battery, the ID.3 Pro 204PS can run up to 266 miles based on the WLTP standard. Meanwhile, the ID.3 Pro S 204PS boasts a larger 77kWh battery that can run up to 347 miles.
The ID.3 Pro includes a range of features, such as alloy wheels, high beam assist, a wireless smartphone charger, 10-color ambient lighting, remote electrically foldable door mirrors, and 2 USB-C ports and charging sockets with a charging capacity of up to 45 W.
Similarly, the ID.3 Pro S also includes high beam assist, a wireless smartphone charger, 10-color ambient lighting, remote electrically foldable door mirrors, and 2 USB-C ports and charging sockets with a charging capacity of up to 45 W.
