Sales are About to Rise for Volkswagen Electric Crossovers
The German automaker’s recently revealed ID.7 sedan features new hardware and over 300 miles of range. Volkswagen also launched its long-awaited MPV, the ID. Buzz, in Europe earlier this year. They are now heading towards electric crossover with Tiguan EV and luxury SUV.
VW Group
Volkswagen has come a long way since it first entered the electric car market. Volkswagen has still been selling an impressive amount of electric cars. Just last year, the VW Group as a whole sold 572,100 electric vehicles, and they also delivered 325,100 EVs globally. The future for Volkswagen seems to be going in the direction of lots of crossovers and SUVs. It only makes sense that VW is trying to add more extraordinary offerings to its crossover and SUV EV lineup. A new report by AutoCar shows VW plans to release new electric-powered crossovers and one SUV by 2028.
Future Releases
Based on AutoCar’s information, an electric-powered Tiguan will be released in 2025. It’s predicted to sit simply under the ID.4, which will be getting a facelift next year. Next up is a budget-friendly compact crossover and a flagship luxurious SUV. It’s possible the compact crossover may be a Europe-only model, although we may not know for another few years. As for the luxury SUV, it may be an electric-powered Touareg replacement.
Electric Vehicles
All of Volkswagen’s electric vehicles are easy to charge. Buyers can purchase an at-home Level 2 home charger, which is sold separately from the car and is offered by Electrify Home. There is no need to worry about a charge while driving as they have public charging stations. There are over more than 45,000 chargers nationwide, and it is an ever-growing network.
Carefree Coverage
Volkswagen is not only advancing in the creation of its electric vehicles, but they are a company that continues to care for its customers. They provide a Carefree Coverage plan that allows owners to schedule maintenance for up to two years or 20,000 miles, whichever comes first, roadside assistance for up three years or 36,000 miles, a new vehicle limited warranty for up to four years or 50,000 miles, and remote EV features with the myVW App up to five years.
Tiguan
Based on what we know about the 2023 Tiguan, some of its features will be transferred over to the all-electric-powered Tiguan coming in 2025. The interior of the 2023 Tiguan has multi-colored adjustable ambient lighting and available heated and ventilated front seats, up to 73.4 cubic feet of capacity in the five-seater model. It even has spacious second-row seating and eight-inch touchscreen navigation.
