Pricing for the 2023 Volkswagen Atlas and Atlas Cross Revealed

Volkswagen has announced updates to their 2024 Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport. The VW SUV’s exterior is refreshed, but the most significant revisions occurred to the mechanics of the vehicles. These refined Volkswagen SUVs will be available at US dealerships later this year (2023) at a slightly higher price.

The starting price for the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas is $39,075*, and for the new Atlas Cross Sport is $38,065*. These prices are higher than the 2023 models, which start at $36,445* and $35,755* (including a $1,295 destination charge) for the corresponding body styles. 

The slight price hike is due to the expansion of standard features. For example, the base VW Atlas includes a heated steering wheel with paddle shifters, ventilated front seats, and a height-adjustable passenger seat. Further, the reimagined Atlas features Volkswagen’s Climatronic automatic climate control.

VW has reimagined the three-row SUV’s interior with higher-quality materials, including a leatherette-trimmed soft-touch dashboard and center console. In addition, the center console now holds a storage cubby underneath. Higher-end models offer quilted leather seats with a diamond stitch design.

The Volkswagen Atlas has several trims: SE with Technology, Peak Edition SE with Technology, SEL, Peak Edition SEL, and SEL Premium R-Line. The SE is the base model with a price of $39,075*. However, 4Motion all-wheel drive is available at a price increase of $40,975*. The most expensive trim is the SEL Premium R-Line, which starts at $53,805*. The newer Peak Edition trims are only available with 4Motion all-wheel drive, with the Peak Edition SEL starting at $51,785*.

The Atlas Cross Sport SE has a surprisingly lower price of $38,650* than the regular Atlas. However, choosing an all-wheel drive will cost $39,965*. Meanwhile, the Sport SEL Premium R-Line starts at $52,805*. The 2024 Atlas family has been significantly upgraded with a new turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine replacing the VR6 engine.

The 2024 Atlas family has undergone significant upgrades, with a new turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine replacing the VR6. The turbocharged engine generates 269 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque and works alongside an eight-speed automatic transmission that powers the front wheels.

Volkswagen hasn’t released fuel economy figures for the updated 2024 Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport yet, but the SUVs are expected to become available closer to the on-sale date. Both Atlas vehicles will arrive at US dealerships in the third quarter of 2023.
