Here’s some enticing news from Volkswagen. The German automaker placed a big order with Hyundai Mobis. One of Hyundai Motor Group’s leading suppliers, Battery Systems Assemblies (BSA), will provide batteries for VW’s new electric vehicle platform. The BSA is a handy device that helps keep electric vehicles running smoothly and safely. The management system combines many different parts, like the battery management system and battery pack, to ensure everything is working efficiently.

Volkswagen pulled a strategic move by ordering many parts for its new EVs from another company called Hyundai Mobis. The German automaker is good at producing quality electric cars and wants to ensure they create even better ones in the future. We don’t know all the deal details, but the ID.7 maker will use more technology from other companies to ensure the ID. family quality.

Some rumors were circulating about Audi’s partnering with the Asian automaker SAIC Motor. The stories seem solid, as the car makers confirmed their relationship in late July 2023. Audi (Volkswagen’s sister company) and SAIC will collaborate to develop new EVs and improve the Audi brand throughout the region.

VW invested $700 million in XPeng Motors to acquire almost 5 percent ownership. As part of this investment, the Golf maker aims to produce two new electric car models using XPeng’s Edward platform, which is currently used for the G9 model. On the other hand, Hyundai Mobis also has some strategic plans. Hyundai Mobis aims to build a new production site close to an existing car manufacturing plant in Spain to provide parts to Volkswagen. The project is pending approval by the end of 2023. Furthermore, Hyundai Mobis already has production lines in Korea and the Czech Republic, and the automaker has plans to set up new EV centers in the United States and Indonesia.

Hyundai Mobis recently won a big contract from Volkswagen, which means we are witnessing the start of a fruitful relationship. Anticipate more orders for parts for electric cars all around the world. Unsurprisingly, the German automaker reached out to the auto parts specialist they’ve made parts for electric vehicles for the last ten years. In 2013, Hyundai Mobis opened a unique factory for making electric vehicle parts. Most of the features Hyundai Mobis makes are for Hyundai and Kia cars, but the parts specialists also sell to other car companies like General Motors, Stellantis, and Geely.

Although Hyundai Mobis received a big order, we have yet to learn all the details. On the other hand, Volkswagen has had some hiccups with its software, and getting the needed parts has caused some delays. VW is seeking help to solve these issues because asking for help is always okay. Hopefully, the German automaker will find what it needs to propel the ID. family to uncharted heights.
