Hyundai Battery Supplier to Lend a Helping Hand to Volkswagen

One of Hyundai Motor Group’s leading suppliers, Battery Systems Assemblies (BSA), will provide batteries for VW’s new electric vehicle platform. Volkswagen pulled a strategic move by ordering many parts for its new EVs from another company called Hyundai Mobis. On the other hand, Hyundai Mobis also has some strategic plans. Hyundai Mobis aims to build a new production site close to an existing car manufacturing plant in Spain to provide parts to Volkswagen. The project is pending approval by the end of 2023. Furthermore, Hyundai Mobis already has production lines in Korea and the Czech Republic, and the automaker has plans to set up new EV centers in the United States and Indonesia.
