A Look at the 2023 Volkswagen Atlas
Of course, there’s the Ford Explorer, Honda Pilot, and Hyundai Palisade, but no crossover comes better equipped than the 2023 Volkswagen Atlas. The VW Atlas is an excellent choice with its ample interior, tranquil excursion, and commendable features. For the 2023 model year, the Atlas welcomes a 10.3-inch digital cluster for the SE trim and above.Â
The Volkswagen SUV is available in two forms: Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport. The standard VW Atlas provides three-row seating, a boxy frame, and an enormous interior. On the other hand, the Atlas Cross Sport is not as large and has a sloping roofline that resembles the BMW X6. Furthermore, although the Cross Sport isn’t as large as the Atlas, the Cross Sport doesn’t disappoint regarding the versatility of its capacity.Â
Underneath the hood is a 2.0-liter turbo inline-4 engine that generates 235 horsepower that may be paired with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Additionally, the optional 3.6-liter V6 engine yields 235 horsepower for enhanced performance. Moreover, for those who struggle to find the perfect transmission, the 8-speed automatic provides exceptional handling and a comfy excursion for such a big SUV.Â
Interior capacity is where the VW Atlas slays the competition. Inside the Atlas, a vast interior awaits, with ample space in all three rows. At the same time, the Atlas Cross Sport delivers three rows of seating and a spacious cargo area.Â
Quality Meets ComfortÂ
The VW Atlas isn’t afraid to accommodate everyone, with more than enough space for adults in the front, second, and third rows. Additionally, the Atlas stretches 198.3 inches long. At the same time, the Atlas Cross Sport is 195.3 inches with a roofline that slopes down, leaving a little less ease for our taller passengers in the third row.
The Atlas’s front seats deliver all-day support and standard power adjustment for the driver. In addition, second-row passengers are privy to 38 inches of legroom and the option of a three-seat bench or captain chairs for the Captain Kirk experience (Star Trek). Moreover, the Atlas’s third row offers enough space for two average-size passengers. However, the third row is perfectly designed for children, and when the kids are too far to reach, there are wide rear doors for easy access.Â
Behind the third row, the standard Atlas offers 21 cubic feet of cargo. Once the rear seats are folded down, that cargo capacity grows to a whopping 55.5 cubic ft. The VW Atlas Cross Sport delivers an exceptional 40.3 cubic ft of cargo capacity. However, once rows three and two are folded, the Atlas provides 97 cubic ft of beautiful freedom.Â
